Each event can be password protected. All you need to do is to switch on Password checkbox when looking at particular event (like this birthday). You can set in Config to:

1) Always show password protected events

2) Show asterisks (*****) instead of text in password protected events, or

3) Hide password protected events completely so you will not see them again until you change settings in Config. Alarms in these events will be hidden from Reminder.
